Rules find common shapes; people decide what context makes secret
Phone numbers, emails, and IDs have recognizable shapes that local regular expressions can find quickly. Typed placeholders such as “[Email]” preserve sentence structure better than generic stars.
Addresses, nicknames, amounts, and internal IDs have no universal format. Add project names, people, companies, and codes as custom terms, then read the result.
Structured patterns such as email, URL, and ID run first; custom terms are then replaced longest-first so short terms cannot break longer ones.

Does it validate an ID or bank card?
No. It matches character shapes without an external database and does not determine ownership or validity.
Why was an address not replaced?
Natural-language addresses vary too much for safe broad matching. Add the exact address or a distinctive term to the custom list.
Will placeholders complicate later editing?
They deliberately preserve the information type for review and case sharing. Replace them again in an editor if you need fixed-length masks.
